Café owner stabbed in alleged road rage incident in Kotwali
Times News Network
Bhopal: A 36-year-old café owner was allegedly stabbed by three unidentified scooter-borne miscreants following a road rage incident in the Kotwali area late on Wednesday night. The victim sustained a deep injury on his back and received 16 stitches. Kotwali police registered an attempt to murder case and started investigations.
According to police, complainant Faizan Ahmed, a resident of Pushpa Nagar in Aishbagh, runs two cafés — one near Royal Market and another in Itwara. Around 10.30 pm, Faizan was travelling on his scooter from his Royal Market café to the Itwara outlet carrying some items.
When he reached the Kotwali area, he got stuck in traffic congestion. During this, he received a phone call and stopped to speak. Meanwhile, three unidentified men arrived on a scooter and allegedly abused him, asking him to move aside.
When Faizan objected to their behaviour, one of the accused allegedly pulled out a knife. Sensing danger, Faizan got off his scooter, but another miscreant allegedly attacked him from behind. As he bent down to save himself, the knife struck his back instead of his neck.
The accused fled the spot on their scooter immediately after the attack. Faizan later underwent treatment and approached the police with a complaint.
Kotwali police have registered a case of attempt to murder against the three unidentified accused and launched further investigations. Police are scanning footage of CCTV cameras in the area to identify the accused as Faizan could not recall their scooter registration number.
