Body of man recovered from Hathaikheda dam

Bhopal: Piplani police recovered the body of a man from Hathaikheda dam on Thursday evening. The deceased has been identified, and the body has been sent for post-mortem. Initial inquiries revealed that the man had a dispute with his wife on Wednesday night and again on Thursday morning. He left home in the morning to drop his daughter at school and did not return. Later, his body was discovered in the evening.
Anand Nagar Outpost In-Charge, SI Santosh Raghuvanshi, said that on Thursday evening, some college students spotted a body floating in the water at Hathaikheda dam. A bike was parked nearby. Upon receiving the information, police reached the spot and retrieved the body from the dam. Documents found on the deceased identified him as Deepak Sahu, 40, a resident of Kokta No. 2.
SI Raghuvanshi said that preliminary investigations revealed that Deepak worked at a factory in Govindpura. He lived with his wife Rajkumari, their 10-year-old daughter, and his three brothers. Recently, construction work was being done on Deepak's house, managed by a contractor from his wife's family. On Wednesday, a dispute arose between Deepak's younger brother and the contractor, which escalated into a quarrel between Deepak and his wife. On Thursday morning, there was another argument between the couple. After this, Deepak left to drop his daughter at school on his bike. He was supposed to go to work afterwards, but he never returned. Later in the evening, his body was found in the Hathaikheda dam, with his bike parked nearby.
Police suspect that Deepak may have taken the extreme step by jumping into the dam. A case has been registered, and the body has been sent for a post-mortem examination. The exact circumstances of the incident will be clarified following further investigation.
