BJP questions Scindia’s silence, Laxman Singh’s remarks
BHOPAL: Taking a jibe on the recent state-level changes in Congress, BJP state election management committee convener Narendra Singh Tomar said that such thing never happened in parties like RJD and SP where leaders like Lalu and Mulayam run the show. BJP has also questioned the silence of Jyotiraditya Scindia on recent appointments.
Congress and BJP have mounted attack on each other after the change of guard in both the parties. Congress, a day before, had challenged BJP on various fronts including corruption and failure of promises when the new state president Rakesh Singh was appointed.
After organisational changes in Congress, the BJP took a jibe at the formation of new state unit where four acting presidents were appointed along with one president by the high command. Union minister and convener of state BJP's election management committee, Narendra Singh Tomar took a dig at the Congress saying the party is feared humiliating defeat in the coming assembly polls.
"I remember, this is for the first time that Congress appointed four acting presidents in Madhya Pradesh. This has never happened even in Lalu's or Mulayam's party which resembles `one man show' in the party", said Tomar.
The BJP also questioned the silence Jyotiraditya Scindia, newly appointed convener of state's election campaign committee, who has not uttered a single word after the recent rejig. The BJP also quoted tweets by Laxman Singh, former MP and younger brother of senior Congress leader Digvijaya Singh, who raised serious questions on his own party for appointing four acting presidents. Singh also mocked appointment of Kamal Nath.
"Silence of Scindia is deafening. The other side, Congress leader Laxman Singh's remarks are self-explanatory which indicates how the party is facing internal bickering on changes. Laxman Singh's demand for four acting presidents in AICC is big mockery of Congress decision. He also dubbed senior Congress leader Kamal Nath as an old `HMV record' in an age of blue-tooth", alleged BJP state spokesperson
Sources disclosed that after the recent organisational changes in both the parties, leaders have started serious efforts to make a dent or lure senior leaders and disgruntled faction of the opposite group ahead of assembly polls due this year end.
