Biker robbed of cash & mobile at knife-point in Jehangirabad, 2 held

Bhopal: A 33-year-old biker was allegedly robbed of Rs 5000 cash and mobile phone at knife-point in Jehangirabad on Wednesday. Both the accused were arrested on Friday.SHO Jehangirabad Shahbaz Khan said that the complainant Jitendra Shivvanshi, hails from Junnardeo in Chhindwara district and resides here in Old Subhash Nagar in Aishbagh. He runs an electronic items shop. He stated in his complaint that on Wednesday around 6pm, he was returning home from Old City via Barkhedi railway crossing. On Raisen Road, two accused riding on a scooter behind him deliberately hit his bike. He fell on the road and both the accused started pressurising him to pay money for damage caused to their vehicle. When Jitendra refused to pay any money saying that they hit his bike, one of the accused took out a knife and pointed it at him. Another accused took out his mobile phone and wallet carrying Rs 5000 and they fled the spot. Jitendra tried calling his mobile phone from different mobile numbers but the accused switched off his phone. Next day, Jitendra approached Jehangirabad police and lodged a complaint. A loot case was registered on his complaint against unidentified accused. The accused had removed the number plates of their scooter at the time of incident. SHO Khan said that during investigations, police took minute details from Jitendra and scanned the footage of around four dozen CCTV cameras to create a route map of the accused. Subsequently, the accused identified as Naseem Khan, 22, a resident of Shahjehanabad, and Mohammed Taib, 23, a resident of Gandhi Nagar, were arrested. Police recovered the robbed mobile phone and the knife used by them during the crime from their possession. Naseem works as centring contractor while Talib runs an ice-cream handcart.
