Bike showroom salesman dupes 11 customers of Rs18L, loses money in betting

Jabalpur: A salesman of a motorcycle showroom at Sharda Chowk in Gada area was arrested for defrauding 11 customers of Rs 18 lakh on pretext of booking bikes.
The salesman, Ashish Yadav, a resident of Seoni, was arrested on a complaint of the showroom owner.
Gada police station in-charge Nilesh Dohre stated that Yadav, originally from Dhooma, worked as a salesman at the showroom for the past five years. A few days ago, a customer contacted the showroom owner, stating that he had booked a vehicle through Ashish Yadav several months ago and paid the booking amount, but the vehicle had not arrived. Upon investigation, it was found that Yadav deceived about 11 people by promising them motorcycles and had them transfer the amount to his own account via QR code.
During questioning, Yadav revealed that he lost all the money in the stock market and betting. He was presented in court and sent to jail under judicial custody.
