Bhopal: Locked home of judge burgled in Bag Sewania

Burglars

targeted the locked house of a special judge in

Bag Sewania locality

and made away with cash and valuables, including gold jewellery.

The accused seemed to have left in a hurry as they could not take all the valuables with them. Bag Sewania police, acting on a complaint filed by the judge, registered a case of burglary.

Investigation officer ASI Suresh Singh said that complainant Deepak Gupta, 50, a resident of

Rajat Vihar Colony

in Bag Sewania, is posted as a special judge in

Ratlam district

court. His wife and children reside in Bhopal.

Singh said that due to lockdown, Gupta’s family had gone to Ratlam on July 7. Gupta’s father-in-law resides in Saket Nagar and he used to visit Rajat Vihar Colony to check Gupta’s house routinely. On Monday, when Gupta’s father-in-law went to check, he found the house ransacked. He immediately dialled Gupta. Subsequently, Gupta reached Bhopal and filed a complaint with Bag Sewania police.

Singh said that burglars stole Rs 7,000 cash and gold jewellery from Gupta’s house. They probably heard police siren as police frequently patrol in the area and left in a hurry leaving other valuables behind. Singh said that police were scanning the footages of CCTV cameras installed in the neighbourhood to identify the accused.
