BHOPAL: To help out senior citizens of
Apna Ghar old-age home
amid lockdown, the residents of Kolar started a food collection drive in which every family donated a bowl of flour and a cup of cooking oil.
Apna Ghar founder Madhuri Mishra appreciated the efforts of neighbours. “I know this is a difficult time for everyone and no middle class family can afford to give us groceries in bulk . I had told my neighbours that we are running low on flour and other kitchen essentials, and someone suggested that they will crowd source groceries.” A message was circulated on social media and the

managed to collect 50kg of flour and 30 litres of oil that will last till April 14. “We kept a three big aluminium pots outside the old-age home and individuals came and made their contributions. One pot was for flour, other for cooking oil and a third for soaps and sanitizers.” said Mishra.
