‘Tiger Walk’ organised for wildlife conservation

Bhopal: As part of the Wildlife Week-2024 celebrations, the forest division of Bhopal organised a public awareness rally, ‘Tiger Walk' to increase awareness about tiger conservation. The rally was taken out from TT Nagar stadium to MVM college, Bhopal on Friday afternoon.
Around 300 NSS students, 600 NCC cadets, members of youth organisations, along with about 2,000 women and children, took part in the rally featuring slogans, posters and placards to spread the message of wildlife conservation.
DFO Alok Pathak said that Madhya Pradesh is widely recognised as the Tiger State of India due to its substantial tiger population. "Bhopal, being a unique city where tigers and humans coexist in urban areas, holds a special place in this effort. It is a matter of great pride for Bhopal and the state of Madhya Pradesh that ongoing efforts to protect tigers and other wildlife are being acknowledged across the country," he added. Bhopal now ranks first in terms of urban tiger population.
