Bhopal double murder: Man kills wife and her live-in partner in front of their 5-year-old daughter

BHOPAL: A 22-year-old woman and her live-in partner were stabbed to death by the woman's husband in front of their 5-year-old daughter in Ashoka Garden locality on Monday night. The accused was enraged as the woman left her and moved into a live-in relationship with a 25-year-old man.

The incident created panic in the area.

SHO Ashoka Garden Alok Shrivastava said that the deceased woman Aruna alias Rachna, 22, wife of Sunil Malviya, a resident of Shamshabad in Vidisha district, left her husband Sunil around a month back and moved into a live-in relationship with Rajendra Malviya, 25, a resident of Mandideep in Raisen district. They were residing presently in Ashoka Garden locality. When Sunil got information about her relationship, he decided to kill both Aruna and Rajendra.

SHO Shrivastava said that the accused had been conducting a recce of the deceased for the past three days. He was aware that both the deceased returned from their respective work around 6.30pm. The accused reached Kailash Nagar in Semra where they resided and waited for them. As Aruna and Rajendra passed on a bike along with his 5-year-old daughter around 8.30pm, the accused waylaid them. He attacked them with a stick and a knife. Rajendra and Aruna fell on the ground. The accused slit Rajendra's throat with the knife and then stabbed him in the abdomen. Subsequently, he stabbed Aruna in the abdomen and killed her.

SHO Shrivastava said that the accused was in a bid to run away from the spot when the locals nabbed him and handed over to police. The deceased were distant relatives and met during a marriage function. Since then, they have been in contact with each other.

SHO Shrivastava said that the locals told police that the accused was accompanied by two accomplices, which was being investigated.
