Madhya Pradesh assembly election 2018: Candidates put under 'house arrest' in Bhind on polling day
BHOPAL: Bhind district administration has put the Madhya Pradesh assembly election candidates fighting on 5 seats of the district on 'house arrest' immediately after the voting started here in the morning. Sources said this has been done for the security reason.
There are 5 state assembly seats in Bhind district. These are Bhind, Ater, Lahar, Mehgaon and Gohad.
Sources said the district administration had the information that clashes could be possible on these seats. In order to avoid such incidents, all candidates have been asked to be in the circuit house of each assembly seat. However, administration said candidates have been called for a meeting only.
District administration may not allow these candidates to move out of the respective circuit house before 5 PM, added sources. This step has been taken for the first time. In the past, candidates were put on such 'house arrest' only after complaint was filed against them.
