Beware of chemical colors this Holi

Bhopal: Warning against the use of chemical-laced colors, the health department has placed emergency services on alert at govt-run hospitals.Officials said to be aware of harmful synthetic colours, raising risks of skin allergies, eye infections and respiratory problems. District civil surgeon Dr Sanjay Jain advised residents to apply oil on the skin before playing Holi, keep nails short, wear loose clothing and avoid chemical colours. He cautioned that chemical dyes can cause dermatitis, serious infections and hair damage, while inhalation may trigger asthma. Contact with eyes can lead to severe complications so residents should be wary of them.
