BHOPAL: Three boys allegedly attacked an 18-year-old boy, a class 11 student, with a knife over an old dispute outside a school in the 5 Number Stop area in Habibganj on Thursday. The student suffered serious injuries to his abdomen and is currently undergoing treatment at a hospital.
The accused allegedly confronted Vinay over a two-year-old dispute, demanding that he apologise again. Despite the boy's insistence that he already apologised and did not want further conflict, the accused became enraged and attacked him with a knife, stabbing him in the abdomen.
Acting on his classmate's complaint, Habibganj police registered a case on charges of attempted murder against the three accused and started investigations. The attack is believed to be related to a two-year-old dispute.
Investigation officer SI Shivendra Pathak said that the injured Vinay Chaturvedi, 18, a resident of Bhim Nagar, is a student of class 11 at a private school near 5 Number Stop. On Thursday evening around 5 PM, after finishing his exam, Vinay was exiting the school when he was stopped by three youths—identified as Chhota, Anna, and Varun, all residents of Bhim Nagar.
Following the attack, Vinay collapsed near the school entrance. His classmates immediately rushed him to the hospital.
Upon receiving the report, police registered a case on charges of attempted murder against the three accused based on a complaint filed by Vinay's friend, Sagar. Further investigation is ongoing.
