Around 12 stray dogs found dead in Shyamla Hills, probe on
Bhopal: The deaths of around a dozen stray dogs over the past three to four days in Dharampuri locality and areas around Ansal Apartment in Shyamla Hills have triggered panic among residents. Locals claim at least 12 dogs have died, while four others are critical and undergoing treatment at a veterinary hospital. Two animal lovers alleged the dogs died after consuming food laced with poison and submitted a written complaint seeking a thorough investigation and action against those responsible. They also urged police to check CCTV footage from the past eight days near Ansal Apartment.

However, Shyamla Hills SHO Bhupendra Kaur Sandhu said the exact cause is yet to be confirmed and will be clear after the veterinary report. As the deaths occurred over several days, police said poisoning appears less likely and have not ruled out a possible infection. SHO Sandhu said that the carcass of one stray dog, which died on Thursday, was sent for post-mortem examination at a veterinary hospital to ascertain the exact cause of death.
