BHOPAL: An inter-religious prayer service was organized by the Archdiocese on Friday to seek blessings of the almighty to heal the world in the wake of coronavirus. The invitation was extended by the Pope to people of different faiths to come together and engage in the community prayers that would give everyone a sense of togetherness at a time that is testing everyone physically and emotionally.

Archbishop Leo Cornelio had appealed all Christian, Hindu, Muslim, Jain, Buddhist and Sikh sisters and brothers to spend some time to offer the prayers to God in thanksgiving as well as to implore God's continued mercy and blessings for all. The theme for prayer service was 'let us come together, let us speak together, let our hearts be of one accord to abolish Corona Virus'.
The prayer began with a hymn, 'Lead me from falsehood to truth, lead me from darkness to light, lead me from death to eternal life', followed by scripture reading. Scriptures taken up for reading were Hinduism (Atharva Veda 12.1), Sikhism ( Adi Granth, Shalok, Farid p. 1382 ) Buddhism (Dhammapada 293-05), Christianity (St. John 9: 1-7), Islam (Quran 2.153-57), and Jainism (Acharangasutra 3.13).
