BHOPAL: Within 24 hours, another incident of derailment was reported in Bhopal rail division. This time the derailment took place near
Nishatpura
railway station.
Three wagons of a goods train carrying oil, derailed. Cracks in the track are suspected to have caused the derailment. Luckily, all the wagons were empty and were being shifted to a yard at the time of the derailment.
The train was coming from Bairagarh to Nishatpura yard at about 6:30am on Tuesday , but since it was not moving at a slow speed, there was no major damage. No one was injured in the accident.
This was confirmed by technicians who were part of a rescue team. When the train reached a bridge near
Nishtapura
, the wagons got derailed.
The derailment affected train traffic on the busy
Bhopal-Indore
route for around four hours. The technical team was pressed into action to get the wagons back on track.
IA Siddiqui
, the spokesperson for Bhopal rail division, denied that rail traffic was disrupted after the derailment.
"An inquiry has been ordered and we are trying to find the cause that led to the derailment,"
Siddique said.
On Monday, two goods train got derailed, while shunting near Habibganj railway station.
