Bhopal/Jabalpur: The state government told a division bench of MP high court that an
anganwadi centre has been constructed on the land donated by a tribal farmer at village Kalalada in Barwani district during hearing of a suo motu petition taken up by the high court.
The HC took note of the case based on a TOI report that highlighted that the anganwadi centre was not constructed on the land donated by a farmer from his landholding for the purpose two-and-a-half years ago.
The state government during the previous hearing of the case had assured the court that the anganwadi centre building would be ready by the end of August 2023.
According to a story published in TOI, Lalad Singh Dabar, a tribal farmer in village Kalalada in Barwani district had donated a piece of his land for construction of an anganwadi centre building in the village but two-and-a half years after the land was handed over to the district administration, the process of construction of the building on the land has not begun.
Taking up the matter as a suo motu petition, the court had issued notices to the chief secretary, district collector, Barwani, CEO, zila panchayat, Barwani and others.
In the previous hearing of the case, the state government had assured the division bench of chief justice R V Malimath and Justice Vishal Mishra that the anganwadi building would be ready by the end of August. During hearing of the case on Monday, the court was informed that the anganwadi building is ready.
Following this, the court deferred hearing in the case by 4 weeks while asking the state government to give detailed information on arrangements made for proper functioning of the anganwadi centre.
