BHOPAL: A 47-year-old ambulance driver was allegedly assaulted, abducted and held captive in the operation theatre of a private hospital in Hanumanganj by three accused including the hospital director, his bodyguard and an accomplice.
The accused trimmed the beard of the victim driver and threatened him not to file a complaint against them or else they will kill him.
The terrified driver kept mum for two days and then approached Hanumanganj police station on Wednesday to file a complaint. Acting on his complaint, police registered a case against the three accused under relevant sections of IPC and MP Doctors and Associated Medical Care People Security Act and started investigations.
SHO Hanumanganj Mahendra Singh Thakur said that the victim Mohammed Atik, 47, a resident of Noormahal Road, works as an ambulance driver at a private hospital at New Kabadkhana Road. As there was not much work for him, the hospital director Mohasin Khan told him to take care of patients admitted at the hospital. He instructed Atik on May 16 to take care of a patient admitted in the hospital from 9pm to 9am after which Atik started working as patient attendant.
SHO Thakur said that Atik alleged that on May 30, around1.30 am when he was at the hospital, Mohasin along with his accomplices Mudassir Khan and bodyguard Shahroz confronted him and started hurling abuses on him. When he protested, the accused started assaulting him. Atik fled the spot and went to his home by his bike but the accused followed him in their car and barged inside his house. They assaulted him at his home and abducted him and took him to the hospital.
