AI to help predict employment, health, disasters in MP, cut risks

Bhopal: MP govt would use AI for "predictive governance", where AI would anticipate risks in health, agriculture, nutrition, employment and disasters, paving the way for timely intervention. This is a key pillar in the state govt's upcoming AI policy, officials said.
"The policy mandates ethical and safe AI, enforcing strict standards of transparency, auditability, and privacy protection for all deployments," officials added. During his recent visit to Impact Summit 2026 in New Delhi, chief minister Mohan Yadav announced plans to create a comprehensive AI ecosystem in MP. And, in a bid to turn AI Impact Summit 2026 promises into real-world gains, the govt has fast-tracked its AI initiatives through dedicated joint working groups. The upcoming AI policy for Madhya Pradesh has outlined transformative features to harness artificial intelligence across governance. The summit marked a decisive step in positioning Madhya Pradesh as a leading AI-ready and AI-enabled state, with a clear focus on sovereign infrastructure, energy-efficient data centres, generative AI for governance, deep-tech skilling, and startup ecosystem development.MP's department of science and technology has outlined a structured and time-bound roadmap to translate the strategic discussions, memoranda of understanding (MoUs), letters of intent (LoI), and one-to-one global industry engagements into measurable outcomes for the state. The joint working groups, constituted under each MoU signed, would define pilot districts, departmental use cases, measurable KPIs, and phased implementation timelines. Top priorities for the state govt included launching the AI Sandbox, digital twin tests, the Submer study, generative AI in 2-3 departments, and skilling for officials and students. Besides, AI-Augmented Administration in the AI policy will equip officers with tools for drafting documents, summarisation, analytics, and informed decision support. Finally, programmatic adoption would embed AI into flagship schemes through interoperable platforms, scaling beyond experimental pilots, said officials.
