Absconding drug peddler arrested in Madhya Pradesh's Chhola

A drug peddler, who had been absconding for the past one year in a drug smuggling case, has been arrested with 1.1 kg ganja. A team of crime branch nabbed him at Malikhedi village in Chhola. He was also arrested three years ago with 51 kg ganja.

BHOPAL: A drug peddler, who had been absconding for the past one year in a drug smuggling case, has been arrested with 1.1 kg ganja. A team of crime branch nabbed him at Malikhedi village in Chhola. He was also arrested three years ago with 51 kg ganja.
Additional DCP (crime branch) Shailendra Singh Chauhan said that on October 5, 2021, Hrithik Meena, a resident Khajurikalan in Piplani, was caught with 6.5kg of ganja in a car, but his partner Deepak Sahu, 26, a resident of Malikhedi village in Chola, had escaped.

Since then, the search for the accused was going on. On Tuesday, Deepak was caught by a team of crime branch on the basis of a tip-off . When the team frisked him, 1.1 kg ganja was recovered from his possession, which was confiscated. A case has been registered against the accused under the NDPS Act. The accused was earlier arrested along with his accomplices Hemraj and Abdul Juber with 51 kg of ganja in 2019. He has been smuggling ganja from other states and selling it in Bhopal for a long time. tnn
