A/cs frozen & I-T raids on, Congress launches drive to seek ‘aid’ from people

BHOPAL: State Congress chief Jitu Patwari launched the ‘One vote, one note’ campaign of the party to seek not only vote of the people but also seek their monetary help in the wake of income tax department freezing the party accounts and slapping notices for recovery of over Rs 1,823 crore from the party for alleged I-T rules violations by the party.

Launching the programme at Roshanpura square, Patwari and other party leaders sought support and monetary help from traders and customers at New Market and shops in Roshanpura square.

District Congress Committee Bhopal (Urban) president Praveeen Saxena and District Congress Committee (Rural) president Anokhi Patel said that people, including traders in various markets including New Market, came out in support of the party in a big way.

A press communique issued by the party said that the campaign has been launched at the behest of All India Congress Committee (AICC) to seek blessings of the electorate with ‘One vote and one note’ so as to help the party fight the LS election despite financial crisis created by freezing of the party accounts and recovery notices received from the I-T department.
