BHOPAL: A family trip turned into tragedy on Thursday morning when a car carrying a bank manager and his family overturned in Sarangpur in MP's Rajgarh district.
Three people, including two children, were killed and three were critically injured. Dinesh Sharma, 65, a bank manager at Biaora's Gramin Bank, was driving the car, say sources. His daughters Deepika (35) and Pallavi (32) were with him along with their husbands and children.
The family was traveling from Biaora town to Indore, 190km away, to drop Deepika and Pallavi at their in-laws' after spending summer vacation with Dinesh.
Around an hour into the journey, the car spun out of control after exiting the highway, overturned multiple times and crashed into a roadside field. A four-year-old boy, Idhant, was ejected from the car and died on the spot. Another grandchild, two-yearold Nishika, daughter of Deepika, died while being taken to Shajapur hospital, 30km away.
Dinesh Sharma and Pallavi were shifted to an Indore hospital, where he died. Pallavi is in a critical condition. Deepika and her nineyear-old daughter, Idika, were also injured and are being treated at Sarangpur Police are investigating the cause of the accident.
