Dead lizard in samosa: 5-year-old boy falls ill in Rewa
Bhopal: A 5-year-old boy fell sick allegedly after consuming a samosa containing a dead lizard in Rewa district of Madhya Pradesh. The incident occurred on Thursday night when the child, Shreyans Sharma, bought the samosa from a local shop owned by Suresh Kushwaha. After eating half of it, the child noticed a strange taste and, upon closer inspection, discovered the head and eyes of a lizard inside the samosa. Shortly after, he began vomiting and complained of severe stomach pain, say media reports. The child's family rushed him to Sanjay Gandhi Memorial Hospital, where doctors began treatment. According to the Chief Medical Officer (CMO), the child's vomiting was a crucial step in expelling the harmful substance from his stomach. They did not allow him to sleep so that vomiting could continue, which helped in reducing the toxic effects. The child has since been kept under observation in the ICU as a precaution, and his condition is now stable. Doctors are hopeful that he will make a full recovery soon. Following the incident, the child's family filed a complaint with the police on Thursday night. The family also provided photos and videos as evidence of the lizard found in the samosa.Police said they have received the visual evidence, and once the family submits a formal written complaint, the case will be registered. In addition to the police complaint, the family plans to file a formal complaint with the Food Safety Department and seek legal action against the shop owner for selling contaminated food. The family has demanded strict action to ensure such incidents do not happen again.A relative of the child told local reporters, "When Shreyans felt hungry, my nephew bought the samosa and jalebi from Suresh Kushwaha's hotel. After eating half the samosa, Shreyans started feeling unwell. We immediately took video and photos as proof of what happened."Investigations are ongoing.
