NEW DELHI: At least four individuals lost their lives and three sustained severe injuries when their fast-moving vehicle struck a road divider and flipped over in Madhya Pradesh's Guna district early Thursday.
The accident occurred whilst the group was heading back to Rijoda village in Shivpuri district after attending wedding celebrations at Maawan in Guna district.
According to Myana police station in-charge Gopal Chaubey, the driver likely swerved to avoid a stray animal, causing the vehicle to collide with the divider.
The accident site was near Bhadaura town. The deceased were identified as Govind Raghuvanshi (28), Sonu Raghuvanshi (35), Veeru Kushwaha (24) and Hitesh Bairagi (24), all from Rijoda.
The injured were taken to the district hospital for treatment, with one critical patient being transferred to Bhopal for advanced care.
The police have initiated an investigation and registered a case regarding the incident.
