: Three FIRs were registered against shopkeepers of
Bhanpur
area for
selling acid
without licence on Saturday.
Earlier, on Friday, police had registered an FIR against a shopkeeper near chowki Imambada area for the same.
As part of a drive to stop illegal sale of acid in the city, a joint team of crime branch, district administration and FDA officials raided shops selling acid and toilet cleaners near Chowki Imambada and Bhanpur on Friday. The team found gross irregularities with regards to stocking and sale of acid.
No records regarding the source of acid procurement or the acid buyers were maintained.
Inspector Alok Shrivastava said that as of now four FIRs have been already registered against violators for selling acid illegally including the three registered on Saturday.
