3 killed, 1 hurt as bike crashes on muddy Kolar rd

Bhopal: Four persons travelling on a motorcycle were thrown into a pit when the bike crashed on an underconstruction road in Kolar early Thursday morning. Three of them died and the fourth, a woman, is in critical condition.Police said that the accident happened at Semri Jod where construction work of the Kolar six-lane project is on. The road is a muddy mess these days. However, the cops maintained that the bike rider was drunk and could not negotiate a turn because he was overspeeding.SHO Kolar Jay Kumar Singh named the deceased as Ajeet Meshram, 21, Satish Jharia, 25, and Lalla, 23. The injured woman is Ganpatia Dhurvey, 20. All of them are natives of Dindori district while Ajeet and Ganpatia lived here in Bawadia locality. All of them worked as labourers.Singh said that Satish and Lalla had come to Bhopal around 4am on Thursday, and Ajeet and Ganpatia had gone to pick them up at ISBT. When they were returning to Bawadia, they were passing by Semri Jod when Ajeet could not negotiate a turn as he was drunk and speeding, said police.The force of the crash hurled them into a pit. According to SHO Singh, Ganpatia told police that she had asked Ajeet to slow down, but he did not listen.All four of them sustained severe injuries and were taken to Hamidia Hospital by police and passersby. Ajeet and Satish died within a few minutes. Doctors tried desperately to save Lalla’s life, but he too died late Thursday night. Ganpatia is undergoing treatment and her condition is reported stable. She has suffered multiple injuries. Police have registered a case and are trying to find out why the bike crashed.
