BHOPAL: The city crime branch on Wednesday claimed to have arrested three Sehore based drug peddlers, who had come to Bhopal to sell 4.7kg Ganja (Cannabis) by their bike. Police team arrested the peddlers and seized their bike along with Ganja total worth around Rs 2.5 lakh.
The accused revealed that they became friends while running a fast-food kiosk and when they suffered loss in business, they started selling drugs.
Police registered a case against the accused under NDPS Act and were trying to find out from where they procured the Ganja and to whom they had come to deliver it.
DCP (Crime branch) Amit Kumar said that police had received information about three suspicious men standing on the road near a private school in Gandhi Nagar. The informer told the cops that the suspects had come to deliver Ganja. Acting on information, a special police team was sent to the spot and the accused were rounded up.
When they were frisked police recovered Rs 250 from the possession of two accused while a bag was attached to their bike. When police checked the bag, they found that there was a brown colour packet kept in the bag.
When the packet was opened, police found 4.7kg ganja in it. During interrogation the accused revealed that they had come from Sehore to sell it in Bhopal and were waiting for a customer in Gandhi Nagar.
Additional DCP Shailendra Singh Chouhan said that the accused were identified as
Naushad Khan, 20, Mubin Ali, 20 and Tauhid Ali, 19, all residents of Doraha in Sehore. Naushad is a mechanic while Mubin and Tauhid ran fast-food kiosks.
