‘Haunted by spirits,’ 28-year-old dies by suicide in Bajaria

Bhopal: The decomposed body of a 28-year-old man was found in his rented room in Khushipura in the Bajaria locality on Sunday evening.Bajaria police who registered a case recovered a suicide note from the room. In the note, he wrote that he was being haunted by seven spirits and was therefore ending his life. His sister, who came from Shahpur, Betul district, and other relatives were handed over the body after the post-mortem. The family performed his last rites in Bhopal.Police said that the deceased, identified as Tarun Sharma, 28, worked for a private company in Indore and frequently travelled to Bhopal and other parts of the state for work. He hailed from Shahpur village, Betul district, and was employed in a private company in Indore. His parents are no more, and he has a sister who lives with her maternal grandmother in Shahpur. He frequently travelled to other states for work and would stay in a rented room in Khushipura, Bhopal during such visits.In his suicide note, Tarun wrote, "Many people have troubled me. These seven spirits are troubling me. Now I am leaving my body. In the next birth, I will go back to my original body. I want to get rid of these spirits." The suicide note does not mention the reason behind the suicide.
