27-yr-old raped by live-in partner’s friend on marriage lure

Bhopal: A 27-year-old woman was allegedly raped by her live-in partner’s friend in Ashoka Garden. Acting on the woman’s complaint, Ashoka Garden police on Wednesday registered a rape case against the accused and started investigations.
SHO Ashoka Garden Umesh Singh Chouhan said that the survivor works in a jewellery shop as a saleswoman. She is in a live-in relationship with a man, who works at a footwear shop.Her live-in partner’s friend, the accused Deepak Yadav, also works at a footwear shop. Being her live-in partner’s friend, Deepak frequently visited her home.
SHO Chouhan said that the woman alleged that in February this year, when the accused came to her home in absence of her live-in partner, he raped her. When she protested, the accused promised to marry her. He rented a room in Ashoka Garden and moved into it with the survivor. He repeatedly raped her on the promise of marriage. However, recently when she pressurised him to marry her, the accused bluntly refused. The woman approached Ashoka Garden police and lodged a complaint against the accused.
