2 missing BSF women jawans show up in Kolkata

BHOPAL: Two women constables of the BSF, who went missing from Tekanpur Academy near Madhya Pradesh's Gwalior over a month ago, have been found in West Bengal.

Gwalior SP Dharamveer Yadav told TOI that Shahana Khatoon and Akanksha Nikhar have reported to BSF zonal HQ in Kolkata, where they are being questioned and counselled by senior officers.

"We received inputs from the BSF. No cognisable offence is being made out in this matter. A report will be submitted in court," Yadav said. Police had registered a case of kidnapping against Shahana on the basis of a complaint lodged by Akanksha's family.

Shahana and Akanksha were last seen on June 6, 2024. BSF had registered a missing person's report at Bilua police station while Akanksha's mother accused Shahana of kidnapping her daughter.
