Police nab 19-yr-old for killing his mother
Bhopal: Kamla Nagar police on Friday claimed to have solved the blind murder of a 42-year-old woman, who was found dead in her home on Thursday. Police arrested her 19-year-old son for murder. In-charge Kamla Nagar police station SI Shailendra Singh Kushwah said that the deceased Nanda More, a resident of Shabri Nagar Multi, worked as a domestic help. Her husband Sunil More had gone to visit his mother in Durg in Chhattisgarh. Nanda was at home with her son, Raunak, who worked as a waiter in a catering agency on a temporary basis. SI Kushwah said that Raunak told police that on Wednesday night around 11pm he went to his friend’s birthday party. When he returned around 6am on Thursday, he found that the main door was open, and his mother Nanda was lying dead in a room inside. He rushed her to a hospital with the help of neighbours where she was declared dead on arrival. Later, police reached the spot on getting information of the incident from Nanda’s nephew Nihal More around 9am and started investigations.SI Kushwah said that police found that Nanda had injuries on her face and neck. Her lip was cut and prima facie it was found to be a murder case. Acting on Nihal’s complaint, police registered a murder case against unidentified accused and started investigations. The short PM report revealed that she was strangled to death. SI Kushwah said that police recorded statements of neighbours and family members and they raised suspicion on Raunak. They told police that he frequently quarrelled with Nanda. Later, police interrogated Raunak. Initially, he tried to mislead the cops but soon confessed to the murder. Kushwah said that Raunak told police that he had a ‘one-sided affair’ with a girl and wanted to marry her, but his mother did not like it as the girl filed a molestation case against him last year. Late Wednesday night, when he told his mother about his desire to bring the girl home, she refused, angering him.He pushed Nanda, causing her to fall on the corner of the bed. She slapped him after which he took dupatta and strangled her to death, say police. He changed the bed position and hid the dupatta to mislead cops. Then, he concocted a story about a friend’s party. He has been booked for murder.
