16-year-old molested by neighbour

Bhopal: A 16-year-old girl, student of class 9, was allegedly molested by a neighbour in Gandhi Nagar. The incident took place around 15 days back but the survivor kept mum out of fear. Police said that the survivor’s mother runs a cosmetics shop in Gandhi Nagar. The accused Tariq Khan resides in her neighbourhood. Police said that the girl alleged that on May 24 around 5.30pm, when she was going to give tiffin to her mother at her shop, the accused Tariq waylaid her on the way and proposed to marry her. The minor refused after which the accused molested her and fled. The minor was terrified and did not reveal the incident to anybody. She revealed the incident to her family members on Thursday and reported the matter to police.
