JABALPUR: At least two workers were hospitalised and a dozen others sustained injuries when a powerful explosion rocked the Section F6 of the Ordnance Factory Khamaria (OFK) in Jabalpur on Tuesday morning.

Authorities have said that one worker is still unaccounted for following the incident.

The blast severely damamged the factory building.

Two employees who suffered serious injuries in the blast were admitted to Mahakaushal Hospital for treatment. Their condition is stated to be critical.

According to Colonel Vivek Mishra from Indian Army's Central India Area Headquarters, the incident happened around 9.45am.

He said that there is a possibility that the missing employee is trapped under the debris and efforts to find him are underway.

An investigation into the incident has been ordered. Sources say that the building was being used to refurbish bombs for the Navy.

The explosion occurred during the steam cleaning process of the bombs. Following the incident, the factory's fire brigade and security personnel engaged in relief and rescue operations.
