Bengaluru youth stabbed 23 times by friend

BENGALURU: The body of a 23-year-old private firm employee was found with 23 stab injuries on Sunday evening at Amani Doddakere area in Hoskote town.
Hoskote police said Pavan Kumar, a resident of Hoskote and employee of a private firm in Manyata Tech Park, was murdered over a rivalry with a friend over a girl. Two people have been arrested, including main accused Tejas, 23, a factory employee in Hoskote.
Police said Tejas and Pavan were friends and differences arose between the duo after they showed interest in the same girl.
Probe revealed Tejas had called Pavan on his mobile around 8pm on Saturday, asking him to come near Amani Doddakere to settle their dispute. Pavan visited the spot and found Tejas with another youth. Tejas warned him to stop pursuing the girl. A heated argument ensued and in a fit of rage, Tejas hit Pavan on the head with a beer bottle and stabbed him all over the body with it. Tejas and his friend fled the spot.
The incident came to light on Sunday evening when a passerby noticed Pavan’s body. “We have detained Tejas and his friend for questioning,” an officer said.
