Youth arrested for cheating, harassing woman

BANGALORE: A 28-year-old youth from RT Nagar, Irfan Khan, was arrested on Saturday by Bharathinagar police for allegedly cheating and sexually harassing a 21-year-old woman from Thimmaiah Road.
The police arrested him after a Mayo Hall court referred the case following the woman's complaint.
"The complaint states that Irfan got into a relationship with the woman and she became pregnant.Khan forced her to go in for an abortion. He had also taken nearly Rs 6.5 lakh from her promising he'd marry her," said a police officer.
The woman's mother said the accused was a regular visitor to their residence. "He used to harass my daughter and ask for financial help as he didn't have a job," she said. Police are investigating the allegations.
