BENGALURU: Prema S, 48, who was mowed down on Saturday night, allegedly by an SUV driven by Sandalwood actor Nagabhushana NS, had only a few days earlier watched his movie and appreciated his performance, her daughter recalled.

Prema had watched Tagaru Palya, starring Nagabhushana among others, with her husband, who was also injured in the accident.

Nagabhushana was arrested on Saturday night under section 304A (causing death due to negligence) of the IPC. He was later released on station bail.

"An investigation of the accident spot revealed that there were speed-breakers at least 150m behind the accident spot. But Nagabhushana was in such high speed that he didn't slow down near them and instead, pressed the accelerator harder," an investigating officer. "It is a typical example for rash and negligent driving."
