BANGALORE: The employee of a private firm was riding to work on Friday morning when she collided head-on with a lorry, and died. Ramya M Kamat, 28, was on her two-wheeler on Chandra Layout main road at 8.30am.
Ramya sustained serious head injuries and was rushed to a private hospital, where she was declared dead on arrival, police said. Ramya, a resident of Vinayaknagar near Chandra Layout, was heading to her office in Shantinagar.
Police said that the lorry involved in the accident was carrying LPG cylinders. "The lorry was coming from the opposite direction and hit her bike. We arrested the lorry driver and produced him before the magistrate," said a traffic police official.
Ramya was married three years ago, and had no children. Police said the post-mortem was carried out at Victoria Hospital, and the body was handed over to the family.
BODIES FOUND IN QUARRY
The bodies of a woman and two children were found in a pond in a quarry on Friday afternoon, The woman, who is yet to be identified, is said to be around 30 years old. Two boys, assumed to be her children, were aged around three and five. The 15-ft deep pond is located in an old granite quarry in Srinivasapura Bande near Kogilu cross in Yelahanka.
The bodies was first spotted by locals, who informed police. Police had them removed and sent to a government hospital mortuary.
