BENGALURU: Although effectiveness of the new traffic management in Whitefield is yet to be tested, Whitefield is constantly preparing to handle the major jolt—the metro construction. On Tuesday, civic evangelist R K Misra and Whitefield Rising met the Whitefield Area Industries and Commerce Association (WACIA) to discuss how to fight with the government for their own good.
Misra suggested that all the industrial associations in Hokote, Malur, Kadugodi and WACIA together should force the political leadership to widen the road from KR Puram towards Hoodi junction before metro construction begins. He also said that BMRCL should provide alternate roads because BBMP is perennially bankrupt. "Until the roads are widened and better traffic management is put in place, the construction will hit the economic output of east Bengaluru," he said.
