BENGALURU: Whitefield is angry again. With none of its roads shortlisted for the next phase of the TenderSURE (Specifications for Urban Roads Execution) project, the city's IT nerve centre is upset over being deprived of long-lasting, pedestrian-friendly roads that facilitate smooth transit of vehicles.
"Nothing for Whitefield," read a post on the Facebook page of Whitefield Rising, which has around 8,800 members.

The post highlighted how most roads proposed to be revamped under the TenderSURE project, following a recent announcement by chief minister Siddaramaiah, are restricted to core Bengaluru areas.
A member of the Whitefield Rising said many residents and those who come to work here were very happy when the CM announced more TenderSURE roads during the inauguration of the renovated St Mark's Road and Vittal Mallya Road last month. "We thought roads that are in pathetic state in Whitefield have some hope.
However, the list of proposed roads doesn't give scope for our dream to be realized as most roads named in it are in CBD, Indiranagar and Koramangala," he added. The anguish of Whitefield is there for all to see on social media. "Roads that are mentioned in the list are far better than the ones in Whitefield," said Balaji Vinayagam, a member of the group. Shipra Aggarwal, another member, wondered, "Whitefield is never considered a part of Bengaluru I guess."
Arvind Purohit, another member, posted, "This confirms the cynical view that it is not apathy towards Whitefield but antipathy towards it. Govt. does NOT want you. Plain and simple!"
Members of Whitefield Rising are now planning to knock on the doors of the government for getting the Tender SURE anomaly set right.
