We didn't get demolition notice, says developer
BANGALORE: Mantri developers on Wednesday said business establishments in the mall will be affected due to the demolition drive.
Kiran Kumar V G, vice president (liaison), Mantri Developers Private Limited, told reporters: "We have incurred a Rs 2 crore loss due to this demolition.''
Mantri Developers have filed an affidavit with the BBMP commissioner on Wednesday seeking one month's time to enable them to make arrangements for shifting utilities and redesign the ramp.

Accusing the BBMP of not serving a notice before the demolition, Kiran said: "BBMP decided to widen the road and we had nothing against it. The demolition was quite unwarranted. Mantri square and its adjoining residential complex, Mantri Greens, have electricity and communication cables running through the front portion of the mall. Hence, we had requested BBMP earlier to give us time to clear the portion on our own since clearing or reconstructing a built-up area involves certain technicalities and procedures,'' explained Kiran.
Denying BBMP allegations that they had violated all the 21 pre-conditions put forth when they got the conditional Occupancy Certificate, he said: "We have done everything as per the law. The only pre-condition we are yet to comply with is the formation of a road behind the mall. It is 50% complete but temporarily stopped because of the Metro construction there," said Kiran.
