Wall collapse: Families of three not yet traced

Police on Thursday released Srinivasa Reddy, contractor of the building whose wall collapsed on Wednesday, on interim bail. However, police are still trying to trace the families of three of the five deceased.

BANGALORE: Police on Thursday released Srinivasa Reddy, contractor of the building whose wall collapsed on Wednesday, on interim bail. However, policfe are still trying to trace the families of three of the five deceased.
On Wednesday, a wall of an under-construction building in CK Palya, near Bannerghatta collapsed, killing five labourers, including a woman. Of the five, police are still trying to trace relatives of three of the workers, who hailed from Bihar.

"Among the five killed in the wall collapse, we have traced the whereabouts of only two. The search for relatives of three other labourers hailing from Bihar is still on. The Bihar government has been informed about the same," said a senior official from the Urban DC's office.
Following the mishap, the State Human Rights Commission called for a meeting of authorities from police and urban district administration.
Meanwhile police have filed non-bailable suit against contractor of the building Srinivasa Reddy and others, who are allegedly responsible for the sub standard quality of work and they are absconding.
The search for the relatives and addresses of these labourers were continued on Thursday too, but of not much help. The labourers who died are Rajiv (60), Sanjeev (28), Raju (60), Jugal (40) and Pargu (40).
