BENGALURU: As the tense situation in Ayodhya and Nagpur prevails over the Vishwa Hindu Parishat Dharam Sansad collecting the “people’s mandate” for building the Ram Mandir in Ayodhya, the Bengaluru rally has been cancelled due to the demise of cine star and former union minister MH Ambareesh.
In a statement issued by the Vishwa Hindu Parishat Karnataka chapter president Dr Vijayalakshmi Deshmane said the VHP has expressed deep condolences towards the demise of Ambareesh and is thus cancelling its Janagraha Sabha on Sunday.

“Vishwa Hindu Parishad expresses deep condolences on the sad demise of veteran actor Sri Ambarish. We pray the almighty to give strength to his family and score of fans to bear the loss. May the departed soul attain Sadgati. Due to the sad demise of Sri Ambareesh, we are postponing the Janagraha Sabha organised today at National College ground, Basavanagudi, Bengaluru to 2nd December,” read a statement from the VHP.
The rally was supposed to see a huge contingent of VHP activists from Mysuru and Mandya region.
However, Ambareesh’s popularity and large fan following in the old Mysuru region has forced the VHP to reconsider the decision to host the rally today.
