BENGALURU: Fine all-round performances from Varun Kumar (nine wickets & 40 runs) and Shreyas BM (six wickets & 52) propelled Bangalore City XI to a six-wicket win over Raichur Zone in the SA Srinivasan memorial U-25 tournament here recently.
In their first essay, Raichur were bowled out for 176 in 45.3 overs with Varun returning 6/54 and Shreyas claiming 4/49. In reply, the Bangalore team scored 290 before being bowled out in the 57th over. Shreyas top-scored with 52.
In the second innings, Raichur were bundled out for 202. Needing 89 runs for victory, City XI, overhauled the target in 15.5 overs.
