Union minister Ananth Kumar unwell, now in London

BENGALURU: Union minister for parliamentary affairs and chemicals and fertilizers HN Ananth Kumar is said to be receiving treatment in London, and his office has trashed reports of him suffering from cancer as “false”.“The minister is in London at the home of his cousins and is scheduled to return within a week,” Ananth Kumar’s office in Bengaluru said. “It is only rumors about him suffering from cancer,” it said.The five-time MP had a serious coughing problem prior to the Karnataka assembly elections in May this year and was scheduled to undergo treatment soon after the elections.Bypoll delayed minister’s treatmentWith the Jayanagar constituency bypoll and the no confidence motion in Parliament against Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s government, Ananth Kumar treatment was delayed. About two weeks ago, Kumar is said to have obtained permission from PM Modi and he flew abroad for treatment.
