BANGALORE: Two senior officials of the Karnataka Minorities Development Corporation were trapped while taking bribe from a person for an official favour on Friday by Lok Ayukta sleuths.
The officers in the dock are Syed Ishfaq Ahmed, administrative officer, and A.G. Jamaluddin, development officer. They were arrested under the Prevention of Corruption of Act for demanding and accepting a bribe of Rs 15,000 and 5,000 respectively.
They were released later.
One Syed Samiulla had applied for a licence for recovery agent of the corporation to collect dues from defaulters. The managing director of the corporation had cleared his file and directed the subordinates to issue a licence to Samiulla.
But, Ahmed and Jamaluddin sat on the file demanding a bribe from Samiulla, who in turn informed the Lok Ayukta sleuths. Based on this information, Ahmed and Jamaluddin were caught while accepting cash on Thursday.
