MYSORE: Two college students abducted from Mysore were found dead by the roadside, near Agalagurki on the outskirts of Chikballapur on Sunday. They were kidnapped last Wednesday.
The boys — Sudhindra Mohan, 19, and H S Vignesh, 20 — were BBM students at Mahajana’s First Grade College in Mysore. They had left their native town of Hunsur on the morning of June 8 to write an exam, but did not reach college.

On Sunday morning, a villager of Agalagurki called Chikballapur police, informing them about two bodies lying on the road. The bodies bore multiple stab injuries, said circle inspector K Shivakumar.
The bodies were found even as the abductors were giving directions on delivery of the ransom money. Police say the killings are a sign of panic, possibly because they knew the media was tracking the case closely. They were under pressure and signs are they panicked and murdered them, Mysore SP Manish Kharbikar told TOI.
Sudhindra’s father Mohan Kumar, a businessman, got a call from his son’s cellphone on Wednesday evening, asking for a ransom of Rs 5 crore. The abductors reportedly warned him against approaching police.
It is not clear where the kidnappers picked up the duo, but there are indications that they had reached Mysore city safely around 1pm. Vignesh reportedly told his relative, who stays close to Mahajana’s College, that he would visit her before going to college. But he never did.
Police have prepared a sketch of a suspect and are working on other leads. They suspect the involvement of people who knew Mohan Kumar, a relative of Hunsur MLA H P Manjunath. Sudhindra’s family is well known in Hunsur and his father’s cement and steel business runs into crores. He was their only son. Vignesh’s father Srinath is a trader, and Vignesh has an elder brother.
