Two dead as mini-bus rams 5 vehicles in Bengaluru

Bengaluru: Two men astride two-wheelers died and three pedestrians sustained injuries when a speeding mini-bus carrying 20 private company employees rammed five vehicles near Kadirenahalli in Banashankari late Thursday night.

The victims are Uday Kumar, 60, engineer with a private firm, and Selva Kumar, 52. Pedestrians, identified as Ramamurthy, Kumar and Vasant, were shifted to private hospital and are out of danger, police said.

Bus driver Nagaraj fled the scene after the serial accident occurred around 9pm. However, he was arrested later from his Laggere residence. Nagaraj said brakes of the mini-bus failed, but police said his claims should be verified with inspection reports made by officials of Regional Transport Office (RTO).
