BENGALURU: The Central Crime Branch (CCB) of city police on Saturday raided two places in Hennur, Bengaluru north and Rajajinagar in west of Bengaluru and arrested two cricket bookies.
The CCB team have also seized cash Rs 2.16 lakh and six mobile phones to take out the data from them for further investigation.
Joint Commissioner of Police, (crime) Chandrashekhar said that the accused Hemanth Kumar was instrumental in dealing with people who placed bets for Australia and Sri Lanka cricket match, while Arun who was operating from Sairam enterprises from Rajaji Nagar was placing bets for India and Zimbabwe cricket match.
Based on a tip off two teams of police conducted simultaneous raids and arrested the accused. The police are investigating further to ascertain whether the duo is part of the inter state betting racket.
