Bengaluru: To mark the 125th birth anniversary of writer Masti Venkatesha Iyengar, a series of programmes have been planned between June 13 and 15. Masti was bestowed the Jnanpith award in 1983 for his novel, Chikaveera Rajendra.

The events include light music performances, a Masti m emorial lecture and a screening of MS Sathyu's Masti Avara Naaku Kathegalu. Loknath, Venkat Rao, Shankar Rao, Girija Lokesh, Rajaram, Rajkumar and Jayarajan who acted in CR Simha's adaptation of Masti's play, Kakana Kote, will be felicitated with the Masti Award on June 25.
