2 die in separate accidents

Bengaluru: A 26-year-old delivery boy and a 30-year-old woman were killed in separate accidents on Saturday.Manjunath N, 26, a resident of Chamarajpet and working as a food delivery boy, was on his way to pick up his wife from KG Nagar on his bike. At 10.20pm, a speeding car collided with his bike on III Cross Road, MV Seetharamaiah Road in Gavipura. He fell on the road and sustained severe injuries to both legs. The car driver sped away from the spot.Passersby rushed Manjunath to a hospital where he died later. Basavanagudi traffic police have taken up a case under the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita, sections 16 (causing death by negligence) and 281 (rash driving or riding on a public way). In another accident, Sandhya, 30, was knocked down by a car when she was crossing the road in front of Kengeri TTMC. Sandhya from Basaveshwaranagar and an employee of a private firm in Kengeri, was walking towards the Metro station after work when the accident happened at 7pm. Dhanush, 20, a college dropout, was at the wheels. According to police, Dhanush was drunk and was booked under the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita, section 105 (punishment for culpable homicide not amounting to murder).
