Three arrested for murdering transwoman in Bengaluru

Bengaluru police have apprehended three individuals, including the victim's boyfriend, in connection with the murder of a transwoman named Naveen Kumar alias Tanushree. The investigation revealed that Jagadeesh, the boyfriend, along with his friends, committed the crime due to Tanushree's persistent demands for marriage and threats to expose their relationship, leading to a fatal stabbing on April 17.

BENGALURU: Investigating the murder of a transwoman, KR Pura police have arrested three persons, including her boyfriend and two of his pals. The arrested are Jagadeesh, 29, Prabhakar, 34, and Sushant, 32.
The victim was Naveen Kumar alias Tanushree, 45, whose decomposed body was found in her house on April 20. There were allegations Tanushree was married to Jagadeesh, but during investigation, police found that Jagadeesh met her at a social service event some years ago and they got into a relationship. Jagadeesh, a cab driver, lives with his wife and children.

Police said Tanushree was urging Jagadeesh to marry her and threatening to share videos of their private time with his family and friends. She had even staged a protest in front of his house along with other transgender persons.
Unable to bear this, Jagadeesh decided to kill her, police said. He is said to have gone to her house with his friends on April 17 and stabbed her to death.
